Team India are the new World T20 Champions and won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 just a week ago. Rohit Sharma and his team led the country to beat South Africa in the final and lift the cup for the second time in history. And the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rewarded the team and its management with a whopping cash prize of INR 125 crore for their success. BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced it on the X, and the team received the cash prize during the event held at Wankhede Stadium.
T20 World Cup 2024 Cash Prize: How will the INR 125 crore be divided into Players and Coaching Staff?
After the T20 World Cup 2024 win, the prize money of INR 125 crore was a very big announcement by the BCCI. But the question was how it would be divided among the players and coaching staff. As per the report by the Indian Express, it has been learned that not just players and coaching staff, but even reserve players and selectors will also get prize money from that amount. So here is the complete prize money distribution for the T20 World Cup 2024.
5 Crore Each: All 15 players in the squad and head coach Rahul Dravid will get INR 5 crore each.
2.5 Crore Each: The three coaches will get INR 2.5 crore each: Vikram Rathour (Batting coach), Paras Mhambrey (Bowling coach), and T. Dilip (Fielding coach)
2 Crore Each: The Background Coaching staff and management will get INR 2 crore each. They are Thulasi Ram Yuvraj, Kamlesh Jain and Yogesh Parmar (Physiotherapists); Raghavindraa Dvgi, Dayanand Garani, and Nuwan Udeneke (Throwdown specialists); Arun Kanade and Rajeev Kumar (masseurs); and Soham Desai (Strength and Conditioning coach).
1 Crore each: Apart from that, all five selectors and four reserve players will get INR 1 crore each: Ajit Agarkar, Salil Ankola, Shiv Sunder Das, Subroto Banerjee, and Sridharan Sarath (Selectors); Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed (Reserve players)
