Here’s what Shikhar Dhawan will do as he announces retirement from international and domestic cricket

After retiring from his cricket career, Shikhar Dhawan will focus on the next chapter of his life and stay busy with the businesses he has invested in.

Dhawan, a top Indian ODI batsman, is looking forward to what’s ahead.

“Playing for my country on the global stage has been a huge honor for me. Wearing the Indian jersey will always be very special to me. I want to thank everyone who supported me during this amazing journey—my family, relatives, friends, teammates, coaches, and especially the fans who have been a big part of my life,” Dhawan shared in a statement on Saturday.

His contributions played a key role in many of India’s memorable victories, including the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

He was the first batter to score consecutive centuries in the IPL and holds the record for hitting the most fours in the IPL. He has also captained both the Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the same time, a feat no other player has achieved so far.

Dhawan is now ready to concentrate on his business projects with the “DaOne Group” and his ownership of the Delhi Premier League team, the South Delhi Superstars.

The 38-year-old man is excited to begin a fresh chapter in both his personal life and professional career. He plans to keep advancing in the fields of health and lifestyle. Previously, he has started a series of gyms, a line of sports gear, and a brand that encourages a healthy lifestyle.

Dhawan began playing for his country in October 2010. Since then, he has participated in 34 Test matches, 167 One Day Internationals, and 68 Twenty20 Internationals for India. He has scored a total of 10,867 runs in these games, including 24 hundreds and 55 half centuries.
