Hong Kong’s Ayush Shukla becomes the third bowler to bowl 4 consecutive maidens in a T20I

History was scripted at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on August 31 as Hong Kong pacer Ayush Shukla became only the third bowler ever and the first-ever Asian to bowl 4 maidens in a T20I match.

Before this clash, Canada’s Saad Bin Zafar and New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson had been the only bowlers to not concede a single run in a 4-over spell in T20Is. Saad did it against Panama in 2021 while Ferguson achieved the feat in the T20 World Cup earlier in June this year against Papua New Guinea.

Today against Mongolia, Shukla bowled 4 maidens in a row and took a wicket to finish with figures of 1/0 after bowling his quota of 4 overs to join the elusive club.

Shukla started off with a brilliant wicket-maiden over, dismissing Bat-yalalt Namsrai, and then bowled 18 consecutive dots to script history.
