Maple Leafs prospect checkpoint: How has Noah Chadwick fared through 5 months of 2025-26?
The 20-year-old was drafted by the Maple Leafs out of the Western Hockey League after playing junior hockey with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Prior to Chadwick’s fourth and final season with the Hurricanes, the defenceman was named team captain, becoming the 32nd captain in Hurricanes franchise history. Through 212 career games in the WHL, Chadwick totalled 32 goals and 100 assists and a career plus-minus of 30. Chadwick showed growth over his final two seasons at the junior hockey level, posting 56 points through 66 games in 2023-24 and 53 points through 66 games in 2024-25.
Upon completion of his third season, Chadwick was invited to Hockey Canada’s World Junior Summer Showcase after his 56 point year. At the end of the season, he appeared in one game with the Marlies before seeing the successful season come to a close.
Chadwick has spent the duration of the 2025-26 season with the Marlies, appearing in 44 games, picking up three goals and 12 assists and a minus-five rating. The 15 points place Chadwick in a tie for 10th most on the Marlies this year and in a tie for second with Henry Thrun amongst all defencemen, trailing only William Villeneuve. Out of all Marlies rookie skaters this year, Chadwick has totalled the third most points, while the 15 points also place Chadwick in sixth amongst all rookie defencemen in the AHL.
With 27 games remaining on the Marlies schedule, Chadwick will be looking to finish the year strong as the left-handed shot defenceman’s game continues to grow. Chadwick will turn 21 in May and likely remains a few years away from getting an opportunity at the NHL level.
With two more prospects in Ben Danford and Victor Johansson brought in during the 2024 draft, both in higher rounds, Chadwick’s game is going to need to keep evolving to stay on the Maple Leafs’ radar in the coming seasons.
