How Lady Frost’s MLW Deal Came Together So Quickly

Lady Frost didn’t stay on the market long after leaving AEW, and now she’s opening up about exactly how her quick move to Major League Wrestling came together.

After announcing on April 1, 2026, that her AEW contract had expired, Frost revealed she became a free agent and immediately started looking toward her next opportunity. As it turns out, she didn’t have to wait long at all before hearing from MLW.

Frost confirmed during an interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that her free agency barely lasted a few hours before her next move was locked in.

“I was only a free agent for a matter of hours, we can say, which feels pretty good,” Frost told Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp.

She then revealed that MLW wasted no time reaching out and that the conversation felt like exactly what she needed to hear at that moment in her career. According to Frost, the promotion had been keeping an eye on her work for years, dating back to when she first tried to get noticed early in her career.

“Honestly, they called right away and it was the phone call that I think I needed to hear. They have been following me for a long time. I showed up to a taping about six years ago. I wasn’t even an extra, just to get my name out there. They remembered me and have been following my journey.”

Frost also explained that her own efforts to promote herself played a role in generating interest. She noted that a recent promotional push helped get attention from multiple directions, but MLW stood out because of how their vision aligned with hers creatively.

“I posted, I think, which created a good amount of interest, a promo package and vignette, and they said, ‘We love your work.’ I said, ‘That’s the direction that I want to go. This is kind of where I see my career going.’ They wanted to be on board with letting me be creative and who I want to be as an artist and pro wrestler. So I loved the call and I thought it was a really great fit for right now. So that’s where I landed.”

Frost’s departure from AEW didn’t come as a major shock to those who followed her recent activity. Her appearances had slowed down significantly in recent months, and while she shared the ring with several top names — including Toni Storm, Thekla, and Kris Statlander — she never picked up a victory during her AEW television run.

She also revealed that some creative ideas never made it to television, including an “Ice Cold Killer” vignette she filmed and pitched that ultimately didn’t air. Moments like that, along with limited television momentum, may have contributed to her readiness to move forward once her contract expired.

Now, with MLW already lining up appearances and showing strong support for her creative direction, Frost appears ready to start a fresh chapter with momentum already behind her. The speed of the deal coming together also signals that MLW saw value in bringing her in immediately rather than waiting for other offers to surface.

Do you think Lady Frost made the right move signing with MLW so quickly, or would you have liked to see her test the waters with other promotions first? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments.
