
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the prize money for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023-25. The summit clash will be played between Australia and South Africa from June 11 at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
The total prize pool for this WTC cycle is USD 5.76 million, which is about INR 49.27 crore. It is higher than the previous editions.
The winner of the final will take home USD 3.6 million (around INR 30.8 crore), while the runners-up will get USD 2.16 million (around INR 18.5 crore).
India Earn INR 12.32 Crore for Finishing Third
Team India finished third in the WTC standings and received USD 1.44 million (around INR 12.32 crore). India had reached the WTC final in the previous two editions but missed out this time.
ICC Chair Jay Shah said the third WTC cycle was exciting and competitive till the very end. He also wished both teams luck for the final.
Road to the Final: South Africa and Australia
South Africa were the first team to qualify for the final. They secured wins against Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Their home series against India ended in a draw, which helped their points percentage.
Australia defeated India and Pakistan at home. They also won away series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka to book their place in the final.
The WTC 2023-25 Final will be played less than a month from now, and fans around the world are eagerly waiting for this big match.
