Hunt: Showdown 1896’s update 2.7 is now live, making its bayou and gulch more dangerous than before through the introduction of a number of key changes that accompany its three-month-long Devil’s Trail live event.
Joining Hunt: Showdown 1896’s monster roster in update 2.7, the Firebreather has a long-range fire breath attack that it uses after standing still for a few moments.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.7 Brings Devil’s Trail Event and More
Sharing qualities of both the Grunt and Immolator, small bursts of fire erupt from its body when damaged, without fully bursting into flames. When killed, it “may let out a final blaze of fire with his last breath, depending on where it got hit,” so caution is advised when approaching this new foe.
A key part of Hunt: Showdown 1896’s Devil’s Trail event is the shift it brings to the gameplay dynamic of the Bounty Hunt mode. Tasking hunters with operating using limited information, it hides supply and extraction points from the map.
To reveal them, we have to find an in-game scouting map or discover their locations while organically exploring, either by walking close, pinging them from a distance or spotting them with the spyglass.
Additionally, extraction points can also be discovered by banishing bosses, picking up bounty tokens, and using The Chariot tarot card.
Hunt: Showdown 1896’s Devil’s Trail event also introduces scout towers. Two appear at the start of a match as the only things marked on the map. They contain interactable scouting maps and other goodies.
Hunt: Showdown 1896’s update 2.7 also adds two new tarot cards. The High Priestess reveals the direction to the closest enemy Hunter, while The Pathfinder reveals all used Clues on the map.
In addition, we’ll also find Burned Convoys, new points of interest with unique loot. A variety of other changes and fixes are also part of Hunt: Showdown’s update 2.7, and you can check them all out in the full patch notes.
The Devil’s Trail event started on March 18 and is set to end on June 10.
