Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Addai admits he is still waiting for that long-awaited call from the Black Stars.
The forward is making waves at QarabaÄ FK with his pace, direct running, and eye for goal. But despite his impressive performances, the 22-year-old admits he is still waiting for that long-awaited call from the Black Stars.
Speaking to 3Sports, Addai revealed that there has been no communication from the national team setupâyet.
“No, I haven’t had any contact yet,” he said. “But I believe they’ve seen my performances. Everything happens in God’s time. I’m not in a hurry.”
The winger’s patience is underpinned by a deep love for his country and a burning desire to contribute.
“I really want to represent Ghana because I love my country. I grew up watching Ghana lose finals, and I want to help bring joy to my people.”
Addai’s current campaign has been impressive. Since joining QarabaÄ, he has scored three league goals, ranking as the club’s third-highest scorer domestically. Even after QarabaÄ’s heavy Champions League exit to Newcastle United, Addai has remained a bright spark in their attacking play.
His ambition extends beyond simply playing abroad.
“I want to be remembered not just for playing abroad but for doing something meaningful for Ghana because I really love Ghana.”
For now, Addai continues to let his football do the talking. The Black Stars are watchingâand when the time comes, he will be ready.
