“I think Captaincy has really…” Team India’s ex batting coach drops a massive statement regarding Gill ‘s future as captain

Shubman Gill is considered one of the best and most versatile batsmen in international cricket. He started playing for India five years ago and has since become an important part of the team’s batting lineup. But Gill’s talents go beyond just batting. At 24, he has shown great potential as a leader and the ability to handle high-pressure situations, which has earned him praise. He is the captain of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL and recently led a young Indian team to a 4-1 victory in a T20 series against Zimbabwe.

Following the series in Zimbabwe, Gill has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team for their upcoming trip to Sri Lanka. During this tour, India will play three T20 matches and an equal number of one-day internationals.

“Whenever I’ve seen him play, whether it was for the Gujarat Titans or in Zimbabwe where he captained in a T20 series, he did a great job. He has shown excellent body language, which is important when you’re leading a team. Now that he’s been given the role of vice-captain by the BCCI, he has more responsibilities, and I believe he’ll excel in this position,” Rathour told The Indian Express.

“I think captaincy has really helped bring out the best in Virat and Rohit, and I believe it will do the same for Shubman. Even though he’s not the main captain yet, being part of the leadership team will help him grow too. I’m quite confident about this. When you’re in a leadership role, guiding others, it adds to your responsibilities, which is a good thing. I think this is really beneficial for someone young like Shubman, who might one day lead India in all three formats of the game,” Rathour says.
