In a recent interview, West Indies’ paceman Shamar Joseph disclosed that he would love to spoil James Anderson’s farewell game after the pacer faces England at Lord’s for their first test series game. The showdown is scheduled to run from July 10-14, and it will be the last time that Anderson steps foot on the pitch for the sport. Anderson will end his career as the most prolific paceman ever in Test-match history.
He hailed Anderson as an admirable player and a person he had emulated since his childhood while talking to the press. Despite his long career where he has taken many wickets, Joseph says ‘he is perfect’.
“He is an amazing player, and I admire him a lot because he is great at this level. He might as well be perfect considering the huge wickets he has taken at this level. And it’s not something that is going to happen because I will make sure I spoil that goodbye.” Joseph told journalists on Monday. The speed bowlers’ paradise is how the West Indies pacer described England.”
“The West Indies bowler expressed his enthusiasm for being in England where fast bowling is tradition. ‘I’m happy to be here. England was originally known for fast bowling,’ Joseph declared. Shamar also shared his experiences of seeing games at Lord’s as well as optimism for performing well in the history-laden field.”
Shamar came into the limelight with his performance with the ball during the Australia tour where he helped West Indies achieve a historic win in Gabba. The pacer wants his side to maintain the same energy in England as well come in with a mindset that they can compete with the hosts.
West Indies and England will take on each other in a three match test series starting form Wednesday.
