Indian batting legend Virat Kohli said he is willing to sign a petition calling fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah a ‘national treasure’ and the ‘8th Wonder of the World.’ Bumrah’s performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup is considered one of the best individual performances ever in the tournament.
Jasprit Bumrah took 15 wickets with an average of 8.26 and had an amazing economy rate of 4.17, which was the best for anyone who bowled at least 20 overs in the tournament. During the celebrations at the Wankhede Stadium, Gaurav Kapoor asked, “I’m considering starting a petition to make Jasprit Bumrah a national treasure. Would you sign it?” Without any delay, Kohli said, “I’ll sign it immediately.”
Kohli explained more about why he admires Bumrah, saying, “I want to mention the player who kept helping us to make a comeback in the T20 World Cup, time and again, in tough situations. That player is Jasprit Bumrah. He is a very special bowler, the kind you see only once in a while. We’re fortunate that he plays for our team.”
