ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Updates: Quick Visa Process For Indian Fans

Pakistan has been selected to host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, with all matches scheduled to be played in three major cities: Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Given the current geopolitical climate and safety considerations, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to stage all matches involving the Indian national team in Lahore. This decision was made primarily due to Lahore’s nearness to the Indian border. Let’s look at ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Updates.

In light of these concerns, the PCB took the initiative to propose an unusual arrangement to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). They suggested that the Indian team travel back to India after each match, allowing them to ensure their safety while participating in the tournament. However, the BCCI reportedly rejected this request, claiming that no such formal communication or request from the PCB had been received.

On November 1st, Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), made a significant announcement regarding the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. During a meeting with a group of Sikh pilgrims visiting from the United States, Naqvi expressed the PCB’s commitment to facilitating travel for Indian cricket fans.

He assured that these fans would receive expedited visa processing to enable them to attend the tournament in Pakistan.

“We will be keeping a special quota of tickets for Indian fans and we will try to make the visa issuance policy brisk,“ Naqvi said During the meeting.

BCCI Confirms No Decision Yet on Participation in Pakistan

Meanwhile, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed that a decision about India’s participation in an upcoming event in Pakistan has not been made yet. He said the Board always seeks permission from the government for international tours.

Shukla stated, “It’s up to the government to decide whether our team should go to any country.“

He emphasized that the BCCI will follow whatever decision the government makes. This situation shows the ongoing uncertainties regarding the Indian cricket team’s possible visit to Pakistan.
