ICC unveils revised schedule for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced a revised schedule for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, relocating the tournament to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Initially slated to be hosted in Bangladesh from October 3 to 20, the tournament will now take place across two venues in the UAE: Dubai and Sharjah.

The decision to move the event was made due to travel advisories imposed by several participating countries amidst the current political climate in Bangladesh.

The tournament will feature ten teams, divided into two groups of five, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.

Groups

  • Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
  • Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland

Warm-up matches are scheduled from September 28 to October 1, leading up to the tournament’s commencement.
