West Indies vs South Africa 2nd Test match was played at Providence Stadium in Guyana where the home team Proteas defeated the visiting team West Indies by 40 runs and won the series. In the second test match played, African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bat first but could only score 160 runs in the first innings. Dane Piedt (bowler) scored the most runs in batting for RSA, he played an important innings of 38 runs in 60 balls. In bowling, Shamar Joseph took five wickets for West Indies, Jayden Seales took three wickets, while Holder and Gudakesh Motie took one wicket each.

Chasing South Africa’s first innings score of 160, West Indies were all out for 144, with all-rounder Jason Holder scoring the most runs for the Caribbean team, he played an innings of 54 runs.

Coming back in the second inning, the home team, Africa, dominated the West Indies. The team scored 246 runs in the second inning, and in reply, the West Indies were all-out for just 222 runs in the second inning.

With this home series win, South Africa earned a significant 12 points in the points table of the World Test Championship 2023-35. With this win, the Proteas have reached the fifth position while the West Indies are in the last position with just one win in nine matches.
