The Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) all-rounder Tim David opened up about his batting position in the ongoing IPL 2025. He has been in incredible form, batting in the middle-order and taking wickets with the ball. The IPL committee shared an interview of the star player where he mentioned that he is open to batting at any position, as per the team’s demand.
The Bengaluru-based franchise will play against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3, and if they win, they’ll be the first team to qualify for the playoffs. They are currently in the third position with seven wins in ten matches. This season, RCB have won all six away games and have won just one game in Bengaluru.
David revealed that he is well aware of his job in the team, as the coaching staff helped him when he joined the team. Moreover, he also spoke about his journey when he joined MI and the impact of the sub-rule in the IPL.
“I’m prepared to bat at any position. Like, my teammates know what my job is in this team. I know what my job is. It’s a role that, you know, I’m getting more comfortable with the more you do it – understanding different phases of pressure, whether you’re absorbing from the opposition or trying to put pressure back on them,” said Tim David as quoted by NDTV.
When I first started in the IPL and when I first joined MI, there wasn’t an impact sub. That meant that actually you were in the side and you often batted six,” added David.
RCB will be looking forward to having a complete match against the Super Kings, as there might be rain interruptions. These two points will help them qualify for the playoffs and also climb up to the first position in the points table. Meanwhile, CSK were the first team to get eliminated from the playoffs.
