“I’m really disappointed…”James Anderson drops a bombshell on his retirement

James Anderson, a famous English fast bowler, said he was really disappointed when he missed catching Gudakesh Motie on the third day of the first Test match between England and West Indies at Lord’s. Anderson played his last game for England on July 12, and they won by a big margin.

Anderson, who is 41 years old, had a great chance to finish his career with a special moment when Motie hit the ball directly to him in the 44th over of West Indies’ second innings. But Anderson didn’t catch it, and he missed the chance to end the match for England in his final game. The bowler from Lancashire had a funny smile on his face as he went back to his position to bowl again.

After the game, Anderson talked about the missed catch and how he felt about the crowd’s response to his retirement. He said, “I’m really disappointed about missing that catch, but it’s been a fantastic week. I’ve been very touched by the crowd’s reaction and everyone’s support. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished.”

Gus Atkinson ended the West Indies’ innings by getting Jayden Seales out, which helped his team win big. The 26-year-old took five wickets in both innings of his first Test match and ended with 12 wickets for 106 runs, which is the third best debut performance by an English bowler.

In his last match, Anderson took four wickets, ending his career with 704 wickets from 188 games. He averaged 26.45 wickets per match and had an economy rate of 2.79. This famous fast bowler played the second-highest number of Test matches (188), just behind Sachin Tendulkar (200).

Anderson is the third top wicket-taker in Test matches, following Muthiah Muralitharan (800) and Shane Warne (708). At 41 years old, he is the top wicket-taker among fast bowlers in the longest form of the game. After retiring, Anderson will stay with the England team as a mentor, helping the bowlers during the summer from the sidelines.
