Impis produced the shock of the weekend after edging former champions Heathens 16–10 at the Makere Grounds, famously known as the Graveyard, in a thrilling Uganda Rugby Premiership Week Two encounter.
Man of the Match Darren Aine was the architect of the famous victory, slotting in two early penalties to give Impis a 6–0 advantage. Heathens responded with a converted try to move ahead 7–6 before adding a penalty to stretch their lead to 10–6 at the break.
Aine returned after halftime with his third successful kick to cut the gap to a single point. Moments later, he sealed the upset in spectacular fashion, racing clear from his own half to score Impis’ only try of the match. Robert Ssentongo added the conversion as Impis held on for a historic win.
