IND vs AUS Highlights: India registered their sixth straight win in the ongoing T20 World Cup after defeating Australia by 24 runs in the super 8 clash on Monday to claim the ticket to semifinal.  

Australia tried extremely hard to chase down the target but Kuldeep Yadav’s middle over’s magic, and Indian pacers made the chase impossible for them.  

Earlier, Rohit Sharma’s blazing knock of 41-ball 92 provided India a good platform for big total. Surya and Hardik also played handy innings to help India cross 200 runs for the first time in this event.

Invited to bat first, Australia dismissed the dangerous Virat Kohli for zero in the first over of the game to prove their decision right.  

But the Aussies failed to predict the upcoming thunderstorm in the form of Indian captain Rohit Sharma.  

Sharma allowed no bowler to settle and smashed boundaries all over the park. The 37-year took just 19 balls to record the fastest fifty in the T20 World Cup 2024.  


The Indian captain has shot 7 fours and 8 maximums during his explosive 92 runs knock off 41 deliveries and he also became the first batter in T20I history to complete 200 sixes.  

Suryakumar Yadav played a solid innings of 16-ball 31 and a late heroics from Hardik Pandya guided India to massive 205.  

Josh Hazlewood was the only bowler among the others with decent figures with 4-1-14-1. While all other Australian bowlers leaked more than 10 r.p.o.

IND vs AUS Highlights: Australia to chase 206 runs in 20 overs 

Arshdeep Singh thrashed Australia’s hopes for a perfect start, as he dismissed Warner in the first over.  

Mitchell Marsh, who came at number 3, seemed uncomfortable and his catch was dropped 2 times before a provided Australia some edge in the game with a 28-ball 37.  

Kuldeep Yadav then removed Maxwell for 20, and Axar Patel took the wicket of Stoinis for 2. 


The tickling of the required run-rate forced Travis Head to try an aerial shot against Jasprit Bumrah, he failed to do so, and lost his wicket for 76.  

Arshdeep Singh once again bagged the most wickets for India (3). While Kuldeep Yadav’s spell of 4-24-2 played the role of biggest game changer.  

With this win, India ended their Super 8 campaign at the top of the points table and will take on England in the second semi-final on June 27.
