A thriller match ended up with India’s victory
India’s batsmen played well in the do or die match of the series for India, and gave India a crucial 8-run victory to tie the series at 2–2.
Virat Kohli continues to lose the toss once again. The Indian team, which came to batting first, started the fruit a little better than three matches. Rohit Sharma started the innings by hitting a six off the first ball of Adil Rashid’s first over.
But he was out on the ball of Joda Archer by scoring only 12 runs. KL Rahul, who is going through continuous poor form, performed a little better in this match but once again disappointed the team by not playing big innings.
KL Rahul was out after scoring just 16 runs. Playing his second match in international cricket and Suryakumar Yadav, who came out to bat for the first time in international t20 cricket, started with a six. He started playing aggressive shots as soon as he came and scored at a fast pace.
Captain Virat Kohli, who came to bat at number 4, failed to maintain his form in this match, and Adil Rashid fell victim to just 1 run. After this, Rishabh Pant, who came to bat, supported Suryakumar. Suryakumar Yadav completed his t20 International half-century.
After bringing India to a strong position, Suryakumar Yadav was out after playing a crucial innings of 57 runs in 31 balls. Rishabh Pant showed some good shots but he was also dismissed after scoring 30 runs. Shreyesh Iyer came in to bat at number six after a turmoil in the batting order.
In the end, he beat England’s bowlers a lot with his bat. Shreyesh Air finally scored a blistering 37 runs in just 18 balls. India managed to score 185/8 with Hardik Pandya’s contribution of 11 and Shardul Thakur’s 10 runs.
For England, Joda Archer took 4 wickets while performing excellent bowling. Mark Wood bowled economically and conceded just 25 runs in 4 overs and also took 1 wicket. Adil Rashid, Ben Stokes and Sem Karan got 1-1 wickets each.
The England team got off to an early setback after chasing a target of 186 runs. When Jos Buttler was dismissed by just 9 runs. This was followed by a small partnership between Jason Roy and David Malan. But David Malan was dismissed for 14 runs.
Jason Roy showed some good attitude and was dismissed for 40 for the third time in this series as soon as he got close to his half-century. This was followed by a sharp 65-run partnership between Johnny Bairstow and Ben Stokes, who came to batting.
This 65-run partnership brought England back into the match. Bairstow became the victim of Washington Sundar by scoring 25 runs. Ben Stokes scored 46 runs in a manner and failed to complete his half-century. Captain Eion Morgan could not do much and was dismissed by 4 runs.
Shardul Thakur brought a big turning point in this match. England looked in a strong position and were easily heading towards victory. But Shardul Thakur dismissed the set batsman Ben Stokes and captain Eion Morgan for 2 consecutive balls and brought the match to India.
Sam Karan then scored 3 and Chris Jordan scored 12 runs. In the end Archer showed some attitude and scored 18 runs in 8 balls. The last over required 23 runs, Archer was in front of Shardul Thakur.
Shardul Thakur looked nervous in the last over but somehow finished the over, and India won the match by 8 runs to level the series 2–2. Shardul Thakur got 3, Hardik Pandya and Deepak Chahar 2-2 and Bhuvneshwar Kumar got 1 wicket.
Now the last and the series decider match will be played on 20 March, at Ahmadabad.
