India Women emerged victorious in a tightly contested ODI against South Africa Women, securing a 15-run win in a high-pressure encounter. Let us look at IND W vs SA W 2nd ODI Match highlights in detail.

Playing with determination and discipline, the Indian side set a challenging target of 276/6 in their 50 overs. South Africa, in reply, put up a spirited chase but were eventually bowled out for 261 in 49.2 overs.

Tazmin Brits was the standout performer for the visitors, scoring a magnificent 109 off 107 balls, keeping her team in the hunt for most of the innings. However, a late collapse triggered by India’s sharp bowling and fielding derailed their run chase and handed India a well-earned win and also their second successive victory in the Tri-nation series 2025.

Pratika Rawal with the bat, and Sneh Rana with the ball, performed exceptionally for India in the game.

Batting first, Pratika Rawal gave India a strong foundation with a composed 78 off 91 balls, finding boundaries with ease and rotating the strike effectively. After the early loss of Smriti Mandhana, who scored a steady 36, Rawal’s innings held India together.

Harleen Deol and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur added crucial runs in the middle overs, with Harmanpreet remaining unbeaten on 41 off 48 balls, anchoring the innings smartly through to the end.

India’s finishing touches came through the aggressive stroke play of Jemimah Rodrigues, who smashed 41 off 32 balls, and Richa Ghosh, whose cameo of 24 added momentum. Deepti Sharma also chipped in with a quick 8 off 9 as India reached a competitive 276.

In South Africa’s chase, the early dismissal of captain Laura Wolvaardt by Deepti Sharma was a big blow, but Tazmin Brits led a strong recovery. She built partnerships with Lara Goodall and Karabo Meso before accelerating in the middle overs.

With 40 runs needed in the final 5 overs and 6 wickets in hand, South Africa looked favourites at one stage.

That’s when Sneh Rana turned the game around. Her spell of 5/43 included key wickets like Chloe Tryon, Annerie Dercksen, and eventually Brits herself. Her control in the middle overs choked the scoring rate and dismantled the backbone of South Africa’s lineup.

Arundhati Reddy and Charani chipped in with a wicket each, and India’s sharp fielding led to two important run-outs, Masabata Klaas and Nonkululeko Mlaba.

South Africa’s promising chase crumbled from 240/4 to 261 all out, losing 6 wickets for just 21 runs. Rana’s spell, backed by disciplined bowling from Deepti Sharma and timely breakthroughs by the rest of the attack, proved decisive in India clinching the match.
