Suryakumar Yadav surgery update: Sports hernia operation completed successfully in Germany.
Team India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has undergone a successful sports hernia surgery in Munich, Germany, and is now on the path to recovery. The star batter confirmed the news through a social media post, expressing optimism about his return to the field.
“Underwent surgery for a sports hernia in the lower right abdomen. Grateful to share that after a smooth surgery, I’m already on the road to recovery. Can’t wait to be back,” said Suryakumar.
The 34-year-old last represented India in the five-match T20I series against England earlier this year. He also enjoyed a spectacular run in IPL 2025, scoring 717 runs in 16 innings for Mumbai Indians, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer of the season.
India are currently engaged in a high-stakes ICC World Test Championship series against England, while their next white-ball assignment is scheduled for late August in Bangladesh, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is. With rehabilitation underway, all eyes are on Suryakumar’s fitness ahead of the crucial white-ball tour.
