Most of the Indian athletics squad heading to the Paris 2024 Olympics, including Neeraj Chopra, will complete their final training in Turkiye, Poland, and Switzerland. This strategic choice aims to ensure thorough preparation for the Summer Olympics. Training camps across Europe will provide optimal facilities for athletes to hone their skills and excel in the global event. This intense preparation is crucial for athletes to perform at their best while representing India internationally.
All Indian Athletics Meeting Date:
All 30 Indian athletes chosen for the Paris 2024 Olympics are scheduled to arrive in Paris on July 28. This gathering will occur four days ahead of the track and field events, which are set to commence on August 1.Â
This timing allows the athletes to acclimate to the environment and finalize their preparations for the competitions. The early assembly in Paris is a strategic move to ensure that every team member is well-prepared and ready to compete at their best when the track and field events begin.
Neeraj Chopra to Practice in Turkiye:
In preparation for Paris 2024, Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra will be training at the Gloria Sports Arena in Antalya, Turkiye. The Indian javelin star has been focusing on his training in Finland and Germany to get ready for the major event. Last month, Neeraj Chopra won a gold medal at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland.Â
To ensure he is at his peak for the Olympics, Chopra has chosen not to compete in any other events before the Games. This decision highlights his dedication to performing at his best when it matters most, as he aims to bring home another gold from Paris in 2024.
Other Athletics To Practice in Poland:
This week, Kishore Jena, a javelin thrower, along with hurdler Jyothi Yarraji, long jumper Jeswin Aldrin, and triple jumper Praveen Chithravel, arrived in Poland. They are currently training intensively at the Olympic Sports Center in Spala to improve their skills and fitness for upcoming competitions. This facility provides expert coaching and tailored training amenities, crucial as they prepare both physically and mentally for their upcoming performances.
On Thursday, the men’s and women’s 4x400m relay teams bound for Paris 2024, along with javelin thrower Annu Rani and shot put athletes Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Abha Khatua, are scheduled to travel to Poland. Meanwhile, steeplechasers Avinash Sable and Parul Chaudhary will train separately in St. Moritz, Switzerland. They will join the rest of the athletes in Poland on July 24, where they will continue their preparations before departing for Paris.
