In the first innings, Jaiswal scored 56 but failed to achieve a huge score of 10 in the second innings which did not prevent him from being recognized as the first Indian batter who reached such an extraordinary milestone. He also became among the first Indian batsmen to break through 1000 runs after 10 matches where previously it belonged to Sunil Gavaskar (978 runs).

The Indian cricket team managed to finish the second day with a score of 81 on three wickets making their total lead against Bangladesh 308 runs during their opening Test match held on Friday.
At the end of day’s play, Shubman Gill was not out on 33 while Rishabh Pant had managed to contribute 12 runs without being dismissed.
Bangladesh had very little chance in their first bating leg falling for just 149 runs giving away a substantial 227-run advantage to hosts side.
The Bangladeshi players could only stand for 47.1 overs in response to India’s first inning score of 376 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah who took four wickets at the cost of 50 was India’s best bowler.
On this particular day, India resumed play at 339/6 but lost these four remaining batsmen for additional 37 runs only.
