Indian Wells 2026 Semifinals – Alcaraz vs Medvedev and Sinner vs Zverev, Betting Predictions

Saturday brings two fantastic semifinals at the Indian Wells Masters tournament, where the world’s top two players are aiming for another expected Sincaraz final. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are the favorites, but Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev are both in great form and want to have something to say about it.

Here’s what to expect from both matches and our betting predictions for Alcaraz vs Medvedev and Sinner vs Zverev.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Daniil Medvedev

Head-to-Head: Alcaraz leads 6-2

This is a rematch of two recent Indian Wells finals, both won by Alcaraz in 2023 and 2024. The Spaniard is on an absurd 16-0 run to start 2026, looking increasingly unbeatable with each match and you wonder how good he can get.

Medvedev, meanwhile, is riding his own wave of momentum. The Russian has won eight straight matches (including the Dubai title) and 16 consecutive sets since his loss in Rotterdam. He dismantled defending champion Jack Draper 6-1, 7-5, benefiting from the Brit’s exhaustion after his epic Djokovic battle.

This should be fascinating tactically. Alcaraz thrives on creating chaos – drop shots, heavy topspin, aggressive net approaches, and that devastating curved forehand. Medvedev’s game is built on neutralizing chaos, standing behind the baseline and returning everything with precision.

“I feel like the court is a bit faster since the two times I have played him,” Medvedev commented, hoping for better result against the Spaniard than some of their previous meetings in California.

Predictions

The Spaniard’s current form is frightening, he’s mixing aggression with complete control, playing with strategic clarity and showing very few weaknesses or even dips during the games.

Medvedev will make him work for it and he has shown he’s handling the court conditions in California really well, but this matchup seem to favour the Spaniard. Alcaraz’s ability to shorten points and attack from any position gives him a decisive edge in these conditions.

Prediction: Alcaraz in 2 sets

Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev

Head-to-Head: Sinner leads 6-4 (won last five meetings)

Sinner demolished Learner Tien 6-1, 6-2 in just 66 minutes of clinical tennis, using first-strike aggression to overwhelm the young American. The Italian has looked increasingly comfortable as the tournament has progressed. Following a slightly slow start of the season (for his standards…) he really looks to be back at his best in the attacking game.

Zverev is into his first Indian Wells semifinal after beating Arthur Fils in straight sets. More significantly, the German has now reached the semifinals at all nine Masters 1000 events, a feat previously accomplished only by Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and Murray. He’s in excellent form this season and knows this might be his best chance to finally claim the Indian Wells title.

This is the more competitive-looking semifinal on paper even though Sinner has a clear edge in their more recent meetings.

Zverev on facing Sinner in the semi’s:

“I think we had quite tight matches, even the last few were very tight. Of course it’s a challenge, but it’s a challenge I’m looking forward to.”

Predictions

Two players in great form but Sinner’s recent dominance in this matchup is hard to ignore and Zverev hasn’t shown he can consistently challenge the top two.

Zverev will compete, and his experience in big matches should keep this competitive, but I still think we’ll see the expected Sinner-Alcaraz final on Sunday.

Prediction: Sinner in 3 sets.
