Indian bowling coach Morne Morkel has given an update on superstar pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s injury. Bumrah suffered an injury on the second day of the 2nd Test between India and Australia in Adelaide. This incident gave India a massive scare in the middle of the ongoing pink ball Test.
During the 81st over of the Australian innings, Jasprit Bumrah faced a concerning injury. After he bowled the third delivery of the over, Bumrah looked to be in discomfort. Despite the persisting problem, he continued to bowl and finished the over.
The incident caused a brief moment to be worried for the Indian team, especially since Bumrah is an important member of the Indian bowling lineup. However, he was quick to recover and then he displayed remarkable show of game. He not only completed the over, but also took the wicket of Australian captain Pat Cummins.
After the day got called, India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel provided everyone with an update on Jasprit Bumrah’s injury. Morkel confirmed that Bumrah was perfectly five and has only experienced some cramps during 81st over.
“Firstly, Bumrah is fine and it was just cramps. Even after that [incident] he bowled and got the wickets for us. Like I said, Test cricket is a tough place, there is no place to hide,” said Morne Morkel.
Coming to the match, Indian team is currently crawling for runs as the batters have failed to build a solid partnership on Day 2. The stumps got called on Day 2 as India was at 128/5, trailing Australia by 29 runs.
