India’s Squad for Sri Lanka Series to be Revealed Today

Cricket fans are on their way to experience another limited-over series. Team India is all set to travel to Sri Lanka to play an ODI and a T20 series. At the end of this month, both teams will face each other. Team India’s squad is still not announced yet. As per the reports, Team India is all set to announce their squad by today. 

Team India’s Squad is Set to be Announced:

After Team India won the T20 series against Zimbabwe, they are now all set to focus on the upcoming limited-over series against Sri Lanka. The tour will be inaugurated with a three-match T20 series starting from July 10. The ODI series will take place from August 2. With this series, a new chapter will be added in Indian Cricket. Gautam Gambhir will start his coaching tenure with this tour. 

As the series is coming close, Team India’s squad is yet to be announced. As per the reports, the squad will be announced by today. That is an exciting news for the fans. A lot of changes are expected to happen in the series. As Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired from the T20s, new faces will feature in the team. 

As per the reports, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul can come back in the series. Iyer was snubbed from the team earlier this year. On the other hand, KL Rahul was sidelined in the recent T20 World Cup are set to come back in the team. 

Suryakumar Yadav is Likely to Lead in T20s:

Last month, Team India celebrated their second T20 World Cup win. Following this victory, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20 cricket. With an upcoming series against Sri Lanka, the team needs a new captain to replace Rohit Sharma. Reports suggest Suryakumar Yadav is likely to be chosen as the new T20I captain for the Sri Lanka tour, taking over from Hardik Pandya, the current vice-captain.

Suryakumar Yadav has leadership experience, having captained Mumbai in domestic cricket and led India to a 4-1 series win against Australia and a 1-1 draw in South Africa. His consistent performance has made him a key player in India’s T20I squad, bolstering his case for captaincy in the upcoming series.
