Rohit Sharma’s Indian men’s cricket team will go to England next year for a series of five Test matches. The first game is planned for June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. The second Test will happen from July 2 to 6 at Edgbaston in Birmingham, and the other three matches will be at Lord’s (July 10–14), Manchester (July 23–27), and The Oval (July 31–August 4).

The BCCI announced the locations and dates for these games on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, August 22.

India has not won a Test series in England since they beat the team led by Michael Vaughan in 2007. On that trip, India, led by Rahul Dravid, beat England by seven wickets in the second Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

During India’s most recent Test tour of England in 2021-22, they won the second and fourth Tests at Lord’s and the Oval, but lost in Leeds and Birmingham, missing the opportunity to win a Test series in England.

India’s upcoming series against England in 2024 will kick off the 2025-27 World Test Championship season.

India has faced England in every edition of the WTC up to now. During the 2019-21 season, Virat Kohli’s team beat England 3-1 on home soil. In the 2021-23 season, the series was tied at 2-2 in England. In the 2023-25 season, under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, India won four of the five home Tests against England in 2024, securing the series victory with 4-1 .
