Injured Talent Made Surprise In-Ring Return Before March 4 AEW Dynamite

RUSH is officially back in action after months away due to an injury— and it happened when few people expected it.

Before the March 4, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite even went live, the former ROH World Championship challenger made a surprise in-ring return during the ROH tapings. After months away due to injury concerns, RUSH stepped back into the ring and made quick work of his opponent, showing little sign of the knee issues that previously sidelined him.

The return is particularly notable given the circumstances surrounding his last absence. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter back in November 2025, RUSH had been pulled from the planned ROH Final Battle main event due to a knee injury that was serious enough to require surgery.

At the time, the injury forced Ring of Honor to completely restructure the Final Battle card. The originally scheduled main event — Bandido vs. RUSH for the ROH World Championship — was scrapped and replaced with a multi-man “Survival of the Fittest” match featuring Bandido, Sammy Guevara, Hechicero, Komander, Beast Mortos, and Blake Christian.

“Announced for 12/5 for the ROH Final Battle show in Columbus OH is Bandido defends the ROH title against Sammy Guevara, Hechicero, Komander, Mortos and Blake Christian in a Survival of the Fittest match as the main event.”

The injury news at the time also revealed that RUSH’s brother Dralistico was dealing with his own medical issues and might require ear surgery, leaving multiple members of La Facción Ingobernable sidelined: “Rush may need knee surgery and brother Dralistico may need ear surgery.”

Now, with RUSH back in the ring and looking sharp during the ROH tapings, it’s clear that the former champion may be ready to jump back into the mix after months away from competition. Bottom line — RUSH didn’t just return quietly. He showed up, handled business fast, and reminded everyone that El Toro Blanco is still dangerous whenever he steps into the ring.

Do you think RUSH should jump right back into the title picture now that he’s returned? Let us know your thoughts and feedback.
