In one of the most electrifying performances of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Rishabh Pant stamped his authority with a thunderous century, reigniting the Lucknow Super Giants’ campaign and thrilling a packed house in Lucknow.
Rishabh Pant roars back to form with stunning hundred and gravity-defying celebration against RCB
On May 27, under the floodlights at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Pant unleashed his full range of audacious strokeplay, powering his way to a scintillating 100 off just 54 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The left-handed dynamo was at his brutal best, dismantling RCB’s bowling attack with 10 crisp boundaries and 6 towering sixes. But it wasn’t just the runs—it was the drama. Pant brought up his hundred in spectacular fashion, reaching out for a full delivery from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and smashing it over extra cover while falling over mid-shot. What followed was a sight to behold: a celebratory front flip, gloves tossed aside, a wide grin stretched across his face, the kind of moment that will be etched in IPL folklore.
Pant’s knock was more than a personal triumph, it was a statement. After being snapped up by LSG for a staggering INR 27 crore in the 2025 mega auction, the pressure to perform was immense as he failed to play even a single impactful knock for his side. But with the bat in hand and the captaincy on his shoulders in the last game of the season, Pant delivered a masterclass in leadership and entertainment.

Pant’s dazzling ton powers LSG to 227, RCB respond with blazing start
In a high-octane encounter at Lucknow, Pant lit up the Ekana Stadium with a breathtaking 118 off 61 balls, steering Lucknow Super Giants to a commanding total of 227/3 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 70 of IPL 2025. Pant’s innings was the heartbeat of LSG’s explosive effort, featuring 11 fours and 8 sixes, including a gravity-defying six over extra cover to bring up his century, followed by a trademark front-flip celebration.
Mitchell Marsh gave the hosts a flying start with a 37-ball 67, adding a 152-run stand with Pant before falling in the 16th over. Despite disciplined spells from Nuwan Thushara (1/26) and Krunal Pandya (0/14 in 2), RCB’s bowling unit was taken apart, especially in the death overs, with Romario Shepherd and Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceding 51 and 46 respectively. In reply, RCB raced to 67/1 in just 6.1 overs with Virat Kohli (33 not out off 16) and Phil Salt (30 off 19) putting on a blazing 61-run opening stand. Akash Singh provided the early breakthrough by dismissing Salt, but with the asking rate hovering around 11.63 and RCB at 67/1, the chase remains alive in what’s shaping up to be a blockbuster finale to the league stage.
