Holdsworth ignites the excitement before the Ireland-Italy clash
Before the future T20I series, Italy played against Ireland in the shortest format during the qualifier match of the T20 World Cup 2024. In that match, the Italian team suffered a heart-breaking defeat as Ireland won the match by a margin of just 7 runs. With the new T20I series approaching, the Director of Cricket of Cricket Ireland, Richard Holdsworth, expresses his enthusiasm.
“The Italian Cricket Federation’s consent to the Dubai series has made us very happy. Our team must have some challenging cricket before the T20 World Cup, thus these three matches will suit us perfectly to get used to the hot weather as we will be coming directly from winter in Ireland,” he stated.
“The Italians played remarkably well against Scotland and thus secured their place in the World Cup, and we are looking forward to a close battle in this upcoming series,” he said.
The first match will be played on January 23, and all the three T20I matches will be held at the famous Seven Stadium in Dubai that will be full of life with the T20 series. Fans are looking forward to the T20 series again which will be very exciting.
