“Is there anything more left…”Sanjay Manjrekar drops a massive praise for Jasprit Bumrah

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar had a lot of good things to say about Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah after he took four wickets for 50 runs on Friday (September 20). This helped India get Bangladesh all out for 149 runs in the first inning of the ongoing first Test match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Bumrah, who is 30 years old, started India’s bowling and got rid of Shadman Islam in the very first over. After getting the Bangladeshi opener out for just two runs from six balls, Bumrah also got Mushfiqur Rahim, Hasan Mahmud, and Taskin Ahmed out.

He ended up taking the most wickets for India in the first inning. During a discussion on the ESPNCricinfo show, Manjrekar, who is now an expert, praised Bumrah’s ability to perform well in any situation and called him one of the best fast bowlers.

“We all know about his different types of deliveries and his quick thinking—he’s one of the smartest fast bowlers. We also noticed some toughness in how he bowled against Taskin. But what really stood out today is that he has no weaknesses—no matter who the opponent is or what the pitch is like. That’s actually the best way to see how great a player is. Indian cricket is really lucky to have him on their team,” Manjrekar said.

He also posted a tweet in praise of Bumrah after the end of the second day’s play, which read, “Is there anything more left to say about Bumrah as a champion bowler? Well I realised today that he is a bowler with just strengths, zero weakness. Guess, that’s the ultimate yardstick for greatness.”

In addition to Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja each took two wickets, helping India to dismiss Bangladesh in just 47.1 overs and secure a 227-run lead.

The top-ranked Test bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin, didn’t manage to take any wickets in the first innings of the match, which is being held at his home ground. However, he has already made this game special for himself by scoring a century for India on the first day.
