The Paul Seixas hype train only just left the station and rumors of a potential hijacking are already swirling. On Saturday, as the Decathlon-CMA CGM rider took runner-up honors at Strade Bianche behind Tadej Pogačar, Het Laatste Nieuws reported that Pogačar's UAE Team Emirates XRG is in "pursuit" of the French wunderkind's signature.

Fans concerned about UAE's dominance must have groaned to see such a headline. At age 19, Seixas is giving French fans hope for a better future that they have not had in years – of course UAE would be coming after the promising youngster, who recently graced the front cover of L'Equipe.
Fortunately, those fans need not despair just yet. There are some interesting tidbits in the article that Het Laatste Nieuws put together to be sure, but a Seixas-UAE deal does not actually appear to be imminent just yet.
As UAE sports manager Joxean "Matxin" Fernández told the Belgian newspaper, "I think every team wants him. He is a very interesting rider, but he still has a contract with his current team."
