Ishan Kishan set to lead Jharkhand in First two clashes

After missing out on the 2023-24 season, Ishan Kishan has come back to Jharkhand’s team for Ranji Trophy, that too as the captain. Virat Singh, who was the captain of the previous season, is going to be the deputy for Ishan.

Ishan recently turned out of Rest of India vs Mumbai in the Irani Cup, and managed to score 38 runs in his single innings. He did not keep the wicket, as Dhruv Jurel was doing his work behind the stumps. It is probably going to be the same in case of Jharkhand as well, where Kushagra is the wicketkeeper.

The chairman of Jharkhand’s selection committee, Subroto Das said that Ishan has international experience and is an experienced player overall. “Ishan is an experienced player and he has international experience, We have picked a very young team. Saurabh Tiwary, Shahbaz Nadeem and Varun Aaron had all retired after last season so we had to rethink our strategy. Ishan is capable of leading this young side and we’re confident of doing well this Ranji season.”

Ishan Kishan (capt), Virat Singh (vice-capt), Kumar Kushagra (wk), Nazim Siddique, Aryaman Sen, Sharandeep Singh, Kumar Suraj, Anukul Roy, Utkarsh Singh, Supriyo Chakraborty, Saurabh Shekhar, Vikas Kumar, Vivekanand Tiwary, Manishi, Ravi Kumar Yadav, Raunak Kumar.
