IPL 2025: Ishant Sharma Breaching IPL Code Of Conduct During GT vs SRH
Ishant Sharma was fined 25% of match fees for breaching the IPL code of conduct during the Gujarat Giants vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH lost their fourth match in a row in IPL 2025.
Ishant Sharma Gives 53 Runs In His Spell
Veteran pacer Ishan Sharma was found guilty of breaching Level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Moreover, the Gujarat Titans bowler under the scanner was given a demerit point.
Article 2.2 of BCCI’s Code of Conduct includes involvement in any deliberate action apart from normal cricketing acts. The actions can be hitting or kicking wickets, damaging advertising boards, boundary fences, dressing room doors, mirrors, windows, and other fixtures and fittings.
Ishant Sharma offered 53 runs with no wickets in his spell in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Apart from Ishant Sharma, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya, Rajasthan Royals stand-in captain Riyan Parag, Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant, and bowler Digvesh Rathi were penalized under the IPL Code of Conduct.
While all the skippers were sanctioned for maintaining a slow-over rate during the games, LSG bowler Digvesh Rathi was fined for his notebook-ticking celebration in the IPL.
GT And SRH In IPL 2025
GT is in the second position in the points table. While GT has a solid top order, its middle order, consisting of Tewatia and Shahrukh, is yet to score runs. Meanwhile, their ace spinner bowler Rashid Khan hasn’t delivered his best in the season. GT has to work their middle order, and Rashid Khan has to return to his original form to improve GT’s lackings.
At the bottom of the table standings is SRH. Starting with a destructive total in Ipl, SRH is currently struggling in both batting and bowling. Their top order isn’t performing, and their bowling combination looks off for the season. SRH top orders have to perform alongside SRH spinners to put up a fight.
