Tempe, AZ – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (“ITA”) is pleased to release today the ITA Collegiate Wheelchair Tennis Team, Singles, and Doubles Rankings for December 18th.
Beginning with the ITA Team Rankings, defending national champions Alabama exit the fall as the No. 3 ranked team in the country just behind Michigan (No. 1) and Arizona (No. 2) who each defeated the Crimson Tide in match play earlier this spring. For the Wolverines, they brought over Jacob Wald from Virginia as a graduate transfer and are the only team to place two players in the fall ITA Singles Rankings.
Just a few weeks past the ITA Collegiate Wheelchair Singles National Championship in Orlando, back-to-back champion Francesco Felici (Alabama) will retain his No. 1 ranking at the collegiate level coming in just above Max Wong (Arizona) and the Michigan duo of Caiden Baxter and Wald.
As a strong doubles tandem as well, it is Baxter and Wald who come in as the No. 1 ranked doubles team in the country. The pairing were a big part of Michigan’s success this past fall in dual match play as they look to bring Michigan its first Collegiate Wheelchair Tennis National Championship this upcoming spring.
