The first ITF MT 1000 in the USA takes place this week in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
In contrast to the sweltering heat here during the ITF Masters World Championships last May, today was windy and cold with the “feel like” temperature near freezing this morning, though by afternoon the winds had moderated and the temperature rose to around 60. Tomorrow will be chilly as well (low of 41) but winds look to be more moderate (25 mph gusts though) and a high of 63. Temperatures such as these lead to a severe weather advisory in Florida!
Most of the seeds had byes today but there were several three set matches in singles and doubles..all seeds tomorrow are in action in singles and doubles though.
The round of 16 in W70 & quarters of W60 & W80 singles take place tomorrow with doubles in the afternoon.
More detail tomorrow…I play at 9:30 against Sherri Bronson in singles and against Una Davis and Birgitte Hostrup in doubles at 1:30.
