“You can’t see it right now, but my face was split open, so we had to improvise,” Cargill said. “The entire arena, in unison, was like, ‘Uhhhh.’ I looked into the camera and roared like a lion, but Triple H was yelling, ‘Get that camera off her! Get it off! We have sponsors, we can’t show that! We have kids at home!’”
Despite the panic backstage, the WWE Women’s Champion didn’t flinch as she made it clear she thought it was a badass scene, saying, “Still, I thought it was a badass scene.”
The injury happened when Nia Jax shoved Cargill into the steel ring steps, sending her face-first into the edge.
