Jade Cargill will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42.
During a recent appearance on Complex’s “Grasp” podcast, Cargill called her upcoming title defense the biggest match of her career.
Ripley earned the title shot by winning the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Cargill praised Ripley as WWE’s “top girl” but revealed that her dream WrestleMania opponent is Charlotte Flair. She said,
“One of the dream matches that I wanted to have, amongst others, was Charlotte Flair. And I thought that’s actually the opponent I was gonna face at Mania was the likes of Charlotte Flair. We’ve been teasing it for so long, and I think that’s a money-making match. I mean, she’s a queen in her own right and I am as well, and I think we have such similar aesthetics sometimes that I think it’s more of a like, who’s who? Like, who’s really like that queen? Or whatever you want to say. I didn’t really dream book Rhea as being the person I would’ve had my Mania match with this year.”
