Jake Fraser -Mcgurk all set to make debut for Australia in this upcoming Series

Australia has revealed their teams for the upcoming tour of the UK in September, showing a look at what their future squads might look like. Since David Warner has decided to stop playing white-ball cricket, Australia has chosen young opener Jake Fraser-McGurk for the first time in the T20I team. At the same time, Test captain Pat Cummins will not be playing in the white-ball matches, as the team wants to focus on the 5-match Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia, which begins in November.

Mitchell Marsh will keep being the captain for the limited-overs teams, as the selectors support him to continue even though the T20 World Cup didn’t go well. Cooper Connolly, a Western Australian all-rounder, has been chosen for the T20I team. The 20-year-old left-handed player, who has done well in the finishing role in the past two seasons, was picked instead of Matthew Wade, who was not selected after the T20 World Cup. Wade and Ashton Agar, who played in the World Cup, were not chosen for the T20I series against Scotland and England.

Australia will start their tour of the UK with a series of three T20 matches against Scotland from September 4 to 7. After that, they will play three more T20 matches against England from September 11 to 15, and then they will compete against their main rivals in five one-day matches from September 19 to 29.

It’s worth mentioning that David Warner handed over the responsibility to Jake Fraser-McGurk after the T20 World Cup. Jake, who is a young player from the Delhi Capitals, was part of the team but didn’t play in the tournament.

Australia has decided to give a break to their top fast bowlers, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, for the T20 series. Steve Smith is also not included in the team. However, these three players along with Alex Carey, Marnus Labuschagne, and Sean Abbott will join the one-day team in the UK after the T20 series is over.
