In a recent development, Delhi Capitals (DC) cricketer Jake Fraser-McGurk has opted out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The Delhi-based franchise has roped in Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman as a replacement for the remaining matches in the T20 tournament.
Following Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Jamie Overton, Jake Fraser-McGurk has become the second overseas player to pull out of the remaining IPL 2025 season, which resumes on May 17. Fraser-McGurk has informed Delhi Capitals management about his unavailability for the rest of the tournament.

Delhi Capitals took to social media to announce that Mustafizur Rahman is returning to the team after two years. He has replaced Jake Fraser-McGurk, who will be unavailable for the remainder of the season.

During last year’s mega auction, Delhi Capitals secured Australia’s top-order batter for a whopping ₹9 crore. However, the Australian international struggled to meet expectations in the current season, scoring just 55 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 105.76. He was dropped from the playing XI.
