Jake Paul reminds Anthony Joshua of last loss with huge signing

Jake Paul allayed fears of a cancellation of his eagerly-anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua, with the announcement of a huge signing.

Paul is set for his toughest test to date when he faces former two-time heavyweight world champion, Joshua in Miami on December 19, live on Netflix.

The 28-year-old cancelled his scheduled November exhibition with lightweight champion, Gervonta Davis after the Baltimore man was accused of hitting an ex-girlfriend in a civil lawsuit.

‘The Problem Child’ hinted that the Joshua fight could be heading towards a similar cancellation in a post on X on Monday.

“9AM EST Tuesday. Major update. Had to be done. It is what it is,” Paul posted.

However, the Ohio native put those rumours to bed on Tuesday with the announcement that WBC lightweight champion, Caroline Dubois has signed with his company Most Valuable Promotions.

Dubois, who was previously signed to Ben Shalom’s BOXXER, will defend her title against Camila Panatta on her new promoter’s undercard a week on Friday.

Joshua has been out of the ring since a devastating fifth round knockout loss to Caroline’s brother and former heavyweight titlist, Daniel Dubois last September and has since switched his training set-up from Ben Davison to Oleksandr Usyk’s team.

Paul made reference to both his loss to Dubois and move to the Ukrainian’s team in a video posted on social media to announce the signing, accompanied with the text: “Even the odds.

“Joshua brought in Usyk.

“So only right I bring in Dubois. Had to be done.”

Paul, who resides in Puerto Rico, went on to say: “You dummies thought I was going to pull out of the #JakeJoshua fight?

“Ridiculous.

“I’m just building. 5 years in. Creating a roster of the best.

“Welcome to MVP Miss Dubois @SduboisC.”

Paul and Joshua will meet over eight, three-minute rounds at the Kaseya Center in a professional heavyweight showdown.

‘The Problem Child’ is on a six-fight win streak since a sole professional loss to Tommy Fury, outpointing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in his last outing in June.
