Jake Paul reveals Brit who turned down fight before Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul is set to fight Anthony Joshua in under a month’s time in Miami.

Paul will take a career toughest-test against Joshua but has revealed someone that turned down the fight first.

Netflix are set to air Paul vs Joshua, but originally ’The Problem Child was pencilled in to face lightweight world champion and pound-for-pound star Gervonta Davis.

With Paul’s next fight announced to take place on December 19, he took to social media to fire a dig at his former opponent Tommy Fury who turned down the fight despite a rumoured $15m purse on the table.

“Guess who didn’t say yes even for $15M. B**** made you and your father are, who controls everything you do. You are not a man. You are a boy. Daddy’s little boy.”

Fury and Paul faced each other in 2023 where ‘TNT’ dealt the American his first loss as a professional.

Fury cruised to a comfortable points win despite one of the scorecards favouring Paul.

The 26-year-old snapped back at Jake Paul’s public callout, revealing why he didn’t take the fight.

“Offering me the fight in America… a place you know I can’t get to right now. Convenient.

“Offer me the same $15M anywhere else in the world and I’ll be there in 8 weeks to shut you the f*** up and repeat what I did the first time.”

“And ‘daddy’s little boy’? If anyone’s a son here it’s you… I gave you your first L.”

Before reaching an agreement with Joshua it has been revealed team Paul looked at a few possible opponents including Ryan Garcia and Terence Crawford but a fight with the two-time heavyweight world champion is the one they chose to pursue.

“Respect due to all the fighters that said yes. We had to put all options on the table and make a decision.

Throughout his 13-fight professional career Paul has fought at heavyweight just once against an aged Mike Tyson.

Joshua in comparison has boxed a total of 167 professional rounds at heavyweight.

After his clash with Joshua it is more than likely he will look to revisit the Fury fight to avenge his only loss.
