James Anderson Registers For IPL 2025 Auction

Veteran English fast bowler James Anderson has registered himself for the upcoming IPL 2025 auction which is slated to take place on 24th and 25th November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This move by Anderson has put many fans in awe, besides, he retired from international cricket earlier this year after the first match against West Indies at Lord’s and later was appointed as the bowling coach of England.

Anderson is offering his services for a base price of INR 1.25 cr in its first appearance in the T20 extravaganza. Anderson has immense experience in test and ODI cricket but he played only 19 T20 games in international cricket and never featured in any franchise league in the world as test cricket was his topmost priority throughout his career.

On the other hand, his compatriot Ben Stokes has opted not to take part in this year’s IPL as he wants to focus on test cricket for England. As a result, he will not be able to participate in next year’s mini-auction as per the new rules.

Anderson finished his career as the highest wicket-taker among fast bowlers with 991 wickets in 401 matches. His skills with the new ball are second to none, he can move the ball both ways by hitting on good length areas consistently. So it will be interesting to see if he can fetch any buyer or if the franchises would snub him for his inexperience in the format.
