English cricket player and Hampshire team leader James Vince shared alarming information about incidents at his home that led his family to move out of their hometown in Southampton. For almost eight years, Vince and his family had lived peacefully in a village east of Southampton. But in a story for The Telegraph on July 16, Vince disclosed that there were two attacks at his family’s home in Hampshire in the past three months. Vince, his wife, and their two kids, who are seven and three years old, live there.
Three months ago, the Vince family was startled awake in the middle of the night by the noise of broken glass and loud alarms. Their home and vehicles had been damaged. A little more than a month later, after fixing everything, they were woken up again by people breaking into their property and throwing bricks at their house and cars. The second incident was recorded by recently installed security cameras. The video shows two men, one of them wearing a hoodie with the Gym King logo on the back. This man is seen taking bricks from another person who is holding a flashlight and might be recording the event. The faces of neither person are clear in the video.
After the incidents, help came from Hampshire, the English Cricket Board, and the group that represents professional cricket players. Companies that gather information were asked to look into what happened, but they haven’t found much yet. The way the attacks happened makes people think there might be a reason related to money, like someone not paying a debt. But neither Vince nor his wife Amy saw anything in their money or phone records that showed they were having problems with anyone. The most likely reason right now is that the attackers got the wrong person. Vince, who usually keeps his personal life private, chose to speak out publicly and ask for help to try to solve the problem.

It could be the crucial piece of information we need to understand what’s happening and return to our normal lives,” he stated. “We’ve gotten a lot of support from the community and within the cricket world. We’ve also hired private security experts who have uncovered some important clues, which is encouraging. Any additional information anyone can provide would be really helpful, as we need this situation to be resolved.” Vince is currently leading Hampshire in the T20 Blast tournament.
