Jasprit Bumrah’s IPL 2025 ends

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team has delayed ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the IPL 2025 season. The star India and Mumbai Indians bowler was initially expected to be match-ready by early April, but he is unlikely to make his comeback due to concerns over his back injury.

Bumrah suffered an injury during the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Sydney this January. The 31-year-old pacer was ruled out of the 2025 Champions Trophy, where India triumphed earlier this month. Team India’s spinners dominated on the spin-friendly pitches in Dubai.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Injury Is a Bit More Serious – Report

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury appears to be more severe than expected. He has started bowling in the nets but has yet to reach full intensity. The BCCI medical team, closely monitoring his progress at the Centre of Excellence, remains cautious about his return to avoid long-term issues, including the risk of a stress fracture.

“Bumrah’s injury is a bit more serious. The medical team wants to ensure he doesn’t suffer a stress fracture. Bumrah himself is being careful. He is bowling at the CoE, but it could take longer to get back in full swing. No definite timeline has been set yet, but one hopes he gets back by mid-April,” The Times of India quoted a source as saying.
