The Philippine didn’t lose a step in asserting their dominance as a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang country anew as they sweep Malaysia in the Gold Medal match at the Chulalungkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. It’s the fourth straight medal for the Philippines since Mobile Legends: Bang Bang made its debut in the Southeast Asian Games in 2019.

SIBOL MLBB was expected to win again but the fashion they did it was nothing short of incredible. The SIBOL boys kicked off the tournament in Group B alongside Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, and Singapore where they didn’t drop a single game.

Their only loss in the whole tournament came in the 2nd round of the Playoffs when they took on Indonesia. But one map was all the Indonesians took against SIBOL as after Game 1, it was the Philippines all the way with a well-rounded effort for the boys to win 3-1.

With their rivals Indonesia taken out of the competition early again much like in last year’s edition, the Philippine squad only had to take on Malaysia to win Gold Medal once again.

Game 1 had SIBOL pick up Karl Nepomuceno’s signature Lancelot and Granger for Kiel Soriano, who is having a magnificant run in his first official run for the Men’s National MLBB team. The two combined for 13 kills in the opening match and the Malays were just run aground.

Game 2 was another quick win for SIBOL where they only needed 9 minutes to dispatch their foes. Malaysia didn’t bother banning the Lancelot and Granger again so SIBOL just capitalized again with Soriano grabbing another MVP Match to his name.

Malaysia managed to force a much longer Game 3 at 20 minutes at SIBOL. The Lapu-Lapu for Malaysia kept the Philippines offense honest. But in the latter stages of the game it was Jaypee Dela Cruz’s Gatotkaca who came out on top in the key engagements.

With a sweep barelling down on Malaysia’s throats they crumbled. SIBOL was once again on point in going for the sweep as they won in just 13 minutes. Granger, Lancelot, and Gatotkaca were on the menu once again and SIBOL just feasted on the Malaysians.

With SIBOL MLBB Mens picking up the Gold, the Womens squad are set to also take on Malaysia in their Gold Medal Match.
