Amid her run at the 2026 Miami Open, Taylor Townsend found something to celebrate in her personal life: She bought a new house for herself and her son, Adyn Aubrey. The news of the former doubles World No. 1’s milestone drew celebratory reactions from fellow players Jessica Pegula and Naomi Osaka.

Townsend announced her pregnancy in October 2020 and welcomed her son, Adyn, in March 2021.

Townsend is currently competing in the doubles event at the Miami Open, partnering with Kateřina Siniaková. They are seeded second and began their campaign by defeating Kamilla Rakhimova and Alexandra Panova in the first round, followed by a win against Wu Fang-hsien and Eri Hozumi in the second round.

In the quarterfinals, Townsend and Siniaková eliminated Jiang Xinyu and Xu Yifan, securing a spot in the semifinals, where they will face the third-seeded duo of Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani.

Recently, Townsend shared a picture and a video on social media of herself celebrating after closing on her new home. In the video, she can be seen making a toast with Don Julio tequila.

“New beginnings.. I closed on my new home in the restaurant of my hotel 🏡 Today is such a special day and a new start for myself and my son! 💕,” Townsend captioned her Instagram post.

Reacting to Townsend’s purchase, Pegula congratulated her, while Osaka shared a couple of celebratory emojis.

“Yay congrats!!! So exciting,” Pegula wrote.

“🥳 🎉,” Osaka commented.

In addition to her doubles campaign, Townsend also participated in the singles event at the 2026 Miami Open. The 29-year-old received a wild-card entry into the main draw and won her first-round match against qualifier Lulu Sun before losing to the seventh seed, Jasmine Paolini, in the second round.

Meanwhile, Pegula, seeded fifth at the WTA 1000 hard-court tournament in Florida, triumphed over Francesca Jones, 26th seed Leylah Fernandez, and 34th seed Jaqueline Cristian, advancing to the quarterfinals, where she will face third seed Elena Rybakina.

The winner of the match between Pegula and Rybakina will advance to the semifinals to compete against either top seed Aryna Sabalenka or Hailey Baptiste.

On the other hand, Osaka, seeded 16th at the Miami Open, began her campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye and lost to qualifier Talia Gibson in her opening match.
