Jets’ QB options in free agency with team in ‘really weird spot’

Jets’ QB options in free agency with team in ‘really weird spot’

This is the first in a two-part series examining the Jets’ options at quarterback. The first part is a look at the veterans expected to be available via trade or in free agency. The second part will be a look at the NFL draft.

The Jets ended the 2025 season with five straight losses. They were outscored 188-54 in those games. Their reward for a 3-14 season that ended like that was the No. 2 pick in this year’s NFL draft.

That usually means a road to a franchise quarterback … but not for the Jets.

The consensus is that there is one quarterback worth a top pick this year and that is Fernando Mendoza, who seems a certainty to be taken No. 1 overall by the Raiders.
