Jharkhand scripted history in Pune on Saturday, beating Haryana by 69 runs to lift their maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. It was a one-sided final, driven by a brutal batting show and backed by disciplined bowling.
Batting first at the MCA Stadium, Jharkhand piled up a massive 262 for 3 in 20 overs. It was the highest total ever scored in a T20 tournament final and left Haryana with a near-impossible chase.
Ishan Kishan led the charge with a stunning 101 off just 49 balls. The left-hander was in complete control, mixing power with clean timing, and finished the tournament as the leading run-scorer and top six-hitter.
That winning feeling! 🥳

Kishan found perfect support in Kumar Kushagra, who smashed 81 off 38 balls. The pair added 177 runs for the second wicket, completely flattening the Haryana attack and taking the game away before the final overs.
Jharkhand’s innings was packed with big hits. They cleared the ropes 20 times, with Anukul Roy and Robin Minz adding late fireworks. Roy stayed unbeaten on 40 off 20 balls, while Minz chipped in with a quick 31 off 14.
Haryana were already under pressure even before the match began, with Yuzvendra Chahal ruled out after suffering from chikungunya and dengue. His absence hurt their spin plans on a good batting surface.
The chase started in disastrous fashion for Haryana. They crashed to 3 for 2 inside the first over, leaving them scrambling early against Jharkhand’s pace attack.
Yashvardhan Dalal tried to spark hope with a rapid 53 off 22 balls, and Nishant Sindhu added a lively 31 off 15. For a brief phase, Haryana looked capable of making a contest out of it.
However, once Dalal and Sindhu were dismissed, the innings fell apart quickly. Jharkhand’s bowlers kept striking, and Haryana were bowled out for 193 in 18.3 overs.
Sushant Mishra was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 27. Anukul Roy backed up his batting with 2 for 42, while Bal Krishna also claimed three wickets to seal the title in style.
