Star batter Joe Root has now become the player to score the most Test runs to do so by beating former England captain Alastair Cook.
Root achieved this historic feat in the Multan Test against Pakistan where he is currently still batting on 71 alongside Ben Duckett who is also batting on 71.
Root now has 12,473 runs under his name in red-ball cricket in 147 matches. He is now on the fifth position for the most Test runs scored in history, behind Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis and Rahul Dravid.
